We are the Rocket Club for the West Midlands and were set up in October 2000 by a group of like minded, local rocketeers. We named ourselves after the UK's "Black Knight Rockets" of the 1950's.
We try and meet each month to fly Model & HPR rockets, socialize and purchase rocket related items. As a club we are affiliated to the UK Rocket Association (UKRA) and abide by their Safety Code.
We encourage education through hands on experience of rockets and all of our launch meetings are attended by one of our UKRA certified Range Safety Officers. We also encourage our members to participate in the UKRA Model Achievement Scheme and the UKRA HPR certification programme.
All of our members must be covered by insurance before they can fly at our launch meetings. We accept all individuals whether they are members of Black Knights or visitors. However, those new to rocketry may initially fly under the clubs insurance before taking out there own. In the UK you must be insured through UKRA for Model and HPR rockets or the BMFA for model rockets.
